logo-miniThe Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières – BRVM – is a fully integrated electronic regional stock exchange for eight (8) countries – Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo – of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).

BRVM is an electronic trading platform which moves to continuous trading since September 16, 2013.

The Equity market capitalization reaches XOF 7,706.27 billion (about USD 12,38 billion) at the end of December 2016 when the bonds market comes up to XOF 2,509.26 billion (about USD 4,03 billion). The BRVM is currently the 6th Stock Exchange in terms of equity market capitalization after Johannesburg, Lagos, Cairo, Casablanca and Nairobi.

The BRVM main activities are:

  • Organizing the stock market ;
  • Publishing the market information ;
  • Promoting the financial market.

The BRVM is a member of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) and the West African Capital Markets Integration Council (WACMIC). It integrated the MSCI and S&P Dow Jones Index in 2014 and MSCI Frontier Market in 2016.
